Disney paid Adriana Caselotti a total of $970 to do the voice of Snow White, and forbade her from doing any other acting or voice roles for the rest of her life because they didn’t want to ruin the illusion of Snow White.
The only other work Caselotti did following her premiere was an uncredited role in ‘The Wizard of Oz’. She provided the voice of Juliet during the Tin Man’s song, “If I Only Had a Heart”, singing the line, “Wherefore art thou, Romeo”.
In 1946, she had an uncredited role in Frank Capra’s It’s a Wonderful Life, singing in Martini’s bar as James Stewart was praying.
She died from lung cancer in 1997, but her voice remains immortal.
